Using the Vista Cova, LLC-produced “Board Preparedness: Ready To Lead From Day 1” thought leadership paper, Dr. Aplebaum will explore the innovative strategies and practices associations are implementing to prepare their boards for effective governance. This distillation of insights was gathered from in-depth interviews with 35 association leaders who have been navigating these waters, each with a unique approach to preparing their board members for service. Dr. Aplebaum will also facilitate a group discussion during the last 20 minutes of the session to help CEOs put theory into practice.

This session will directly address CAE Exam Content Domain 1: Governance C: Volunteer Leadership Development #2: Ensure the leadership development program addresses orientation, ongoing training, collaboration, fiduciary responsibility, and accountability. Attendees will emerge from this session with insights, tools, and frameworks that will better prepare their volunteers to lead their organizations.

***Please note, the Commission has announced a new CAE Registered Provider Program. This course will be submitted for pre-approval for CAE credit.  

GSAE is a CAE Registered Provider. Every program that we offer which qualifies for CAE credit will clearly identify the number of CAE credits granted for full participation, and we will maintain records of your participation in accord with CAE policies. Applicants may use any program that meets eligibility requirements in the specific time frame towards the exam application or renewal. There are no specific individual courses required as part of the applications – selection of eligible education is up to the applicant based on his/her needs.
