Meet Mr. Abit and learn more about the Lecture Series and his many community contributions. The University of Georgia published a great feature recently, "The Inimitable Abit Massey." the 45th annual abit massey lecturer is stella williams bailey, professional speaker and communications coach“Live to Give “ will inspire you to reaffirm your goals for your organization and to recognize how you are making a difference in the lives of others. Stella will guide you on how to continue giving through the services of your particular association as well as in your private life. Stressing the importance of a balanced life between work, family and community, Stella will help you identify ways inside and outside of your professional life to give to others by using your unique gifts and talents.
Stella Williams Bailey is a twice-honor graduate of the University of Georgia with a master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She is a professorial speaker who has spoken to numerous groups of students at the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. She has been the keynote speaker for various groups including The Georgia Women of Achievement, The UGA Family and Consumer Sciences Leadership Conference, and the Georgia Middle School Counselors Association. Through her business, Be A Star With Stella, Stella has consulted with individuals for over 25 years, coaching them in self-confidence, interview skills, and public speaking. Stella served on the University of Georgia Alumni Board of Directors for 20 years. She was named as one of the 100 Year Centennial Honorees by the UGA’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences. She was also the recipient of the first Pearl Award for Volunteerism in Calhoun-Gordon County. Currently, Stella serves on the Executive Board of the Georgia Women of Achievement Board of Trustees. In addition, she is an active member of her church in Cordele, a member of the Cordele Crisp Community League and a board member of the Crisp Area Arts Alliance.
